Priority Health is recognizing four regional winners with Senior Impact Awards in Jackson, Kent, Mecosta and Leelanau counties. The award program recognizes the way volunteers 63 years and older put their energy and commitment to work for the community. As part of this recognition, each recipient earns $1,000 for his or her volunteer organization.
The 2008 recipients include:
-- Margaret Tare, of Leelanau County, for her work with the Father Fred Foundation
-- Helen Chappell, of Mecosta County, for her work with EightCAP, Inc., Senior Companion
-- Marion Vos, of Kent County, for his work with Home Repair Services
-- James O'Connor, D.O., of Jackson County, for his work with St. Luke's Clinic
"We should all be inspired by these incredible individuals, who have given their time and talents to improve our local communities," said LouAnn Shawver, senior manager of PriorityMedicare sales. "We, at Priority Health, are proud to be able to recognize and reward their efforts."
The United Way and Volunteer Centers of Michigan worked with Priority Health to identify senior volunteers, to collect nominations, and to choose the winners in their Michigan communities. Visit priorityhealth.com to learn more about each recipient.
