A 28-yard field goal by Louie Sakoda as time expired Thursday capped an amazing comeback and gave No. 15 Utah a 31-28 victory over Oregon State.
Oregon State, conqueror of top-ranked USC last week, took a 28-20 lead with 2:18 remaining and then surrendered 11 points the rest of the way.
Utah (6-0), which had let a 20-15 halftime lead slip away, answered Oregon State's late touchdown by driving 70 yards in just 42 seconds and scoring on a 2-yard run by Brian Johnson.
Johnson followed that by running in on a two-point conversion attempt that tied the game.
Oregon State was then able to gain only three yards while running off just 15 seconds on the clock and after the Beavers punted to Utah's 45, the Utes quickly drove into field goal range.
Lyle Moevao brought Oregon State (2-3) to the brink of an upset by throwing for 319 yards and two touchdowns. The Beavers also got 101 rushing yards and 76 receiving yards from freshman Jacquizz Rodgers -- the hero of last week's win over USC.
It was Rodgers' 40-yard reception that set up a 2-yard pass from Moevao to Brady Camp that appeared to have wrapped up a victory for Oregon State.
