-- 5:30 to 7 p.m. Wednesdays through Aug. 31. Open Horseshoe Pitching at Rexroth Park. Cost is $2 residents of EYARC and $3 for nonresidents.

-- 6 to 9 p.m. Wednesdays through Sept. 28. Co-ed "Beach" Volleyball at Rexroth Park. Cost is $2 for EYARC residents and $3 nonresidents. Pay on site.

-- 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. Fridays through Aug. 26. Youth Dodgeball at Lower Windsor Township building. Children ages 14 to 16. Cost is $2 for EYARC residents and $3 nonresidents. Pay at door.

-- 7:30 to 9:30 p.m. Fridays through Aug. 26. Adult Dodgeball at Lower Windsor Township Building. Cost is $2 for EYARC residents and $3 for nonresidents. Pay at door.

St. James Lutheran Church of Brogue, 2335 Cramer Road, Brogue, sponsors a clothing give-away 8:30 a.m. the first Saturday of every month (July 2). All clothing and shoes are free and range in sizes from infant to X-large. The St. James Community Clothes Closet is open to the needy on the first Saturday of the month. For details, call 927-9497.

The Miss Red Lion committee is sponsoring an informal "Meet the Contestants" day 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. July 4 at Fairmount Park, Red Lion. Voting will take place 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at a reserved table in Fairmount Park. The 18 "Miss Red Lion" contestant's containers/ pictures will be available. Votes are 25 cents each or four for $1. The contestant with the most votes will be crowned "Miss Red Lion" 2 to 4 p.m. Sept. 10 at Red Lion Elks, 323 W. Broadway, Red Lion. The public is invited to the ceremonies and reception.

York County Department of Veterans Affairs' satellite office, Red Lion Area Senior Center, 20C Gotham Place, Red Lion, 244-7229, will offer veterans benefits counseling and claims preparation for veterans and their families 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. the third Wednesday of each month (July 20). York County Area Agency on Aging currently has openings in York County for Volunteer Friendly Visitors. Friendly Visitors are adults who are willing to share an hour or two each week with an older York County resident. Many of these elderly persons are homebound and have very limited social contact. These visits whether you read, write letters, play cards or board games, or just spend the time chatting are often the high point of their week. Persons interested in joining the program will be matched up with an older adult following completion of a day-long training session, planned for July. In celebration of its 125th anniversary, the borough of Red Lion is planning activities scheduled throughout the year and a parade to begin 2 p.m. Sept. 18. Any interested organizations, groups or persons who would like to enter and be part of the parade and celebration, should call Brooks at 244-4934 after 5 p.m. or Betty at 244-2336 after 4 p.m. for an entry application. All applications must be filed with the parade committee on or before July 15. Your entry is to follow the theme of the 125th anniversary celebration.

Dallastown Basketball Booster Club is sponsoring a basket bingo Sept. 25 at the Eureka Fire Company in Stewartstown. This fund- raiser provides scholarships to qualified seniors for their post secondary education. The scholarships are open to basketball players, cheerleaders and team managers. We are currently looking for monetary donations from area companies or individual persons to help purchase the baskets and/or fill the baskets that will be given as prizes. To help fill the baskets with donated items, call 244- 5582 and your donation will be picked up. Monetary donations can be made payable to the Dallastown Basketball Booster Club, and mailed to Beth Younker, 329 Chestnut Hill Road, York 17402.

The Red Lion Area Senior Center is currently selling savings booklets for the "Care to Share Program" sponsored by The Bon-Ton. The $5 booklet is filled with valuable coupons for The Bon Ton. All proceeds benefit The Red Lion Area Senior Center. For more details, call 244-7229.

The American Legion, Department of Pennsylvania is offering a Certificate of Appreciation for soldiers serving in Enduring Freedom, Iraqi Freedom and the war on terrorism, state-side or overseas. If you know of a soldier and you would like to show your appreciation for what he or she is doing, you can receive a copy of a request for a soldier certificate of appreciation from your local legion. If this is not possible, contact Larry Hollabaugh at 235- 2609 to help you with your request through the Austin L. Grove Post 403 of Glen Rock.

Low impact step aerobic classes are held in Goldman Hall, 15 First Ave., Red Lion, next door to St. Paul's United Methodist Church. Aerobic step and body toning classes meet 9 to 10:30 a.m. Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays. These classes are designed as a moderate workout fitness program. Additional regular aerobic classes meet 4:30 to 5:30 p.m. Tuesday and Thursday and 8 to 9 a.m. Saturday. A low impact aerobic class workout program meets 10:30 to 11:30 a.m. Mondays and Wednesdays. These classes are designed for beginners and senior students. Classes are open to the community and cost $3 per session. Pre-registration is not required. Personalized children's book fund-raiser, sponsored by the Friends of the Collinsville Library, offers a great gift for any occasion. Books are personalized with a child's name, age and hometown, plus up to three names of friends, family or pets. Personal messages may also be included from the gift giver. Personalized books encourage children to read and makes learning fun while building children's self-esteem because they are the stars of the stories. More than 30 titles are available for all ages.
