Impulse Monitoring and Charlton Memorial Hospital Sign IONM Services Agreement

Posted on: Tuesday, 7 October 2008, 12:00 CDT

Impulse Monitoring, Inc. (IMI), a leading provider of intraoperative neurophysiological monitoring (IONM) services to hospitals, today announced that it has signed an agreement with Charlton Memorial Hospital, the Fall River, Massachusetts site of Southcoast Hospitals Group. IMI will provide Charlton Memorial with comprehensive IONM services including training of Charlton's neurophysiologists as well as monitoring by IMI-qualified neurophysiologists and real-time professional oversight by experienced physicians. IMI has had a long-standing relationship with St. Luke's Hospital, the New Bedford site of Southcoast Hospitals Group.

IONM assesses neurological function involving the brain, spinal cord and related nerve structures during surgery. Use of IONM facilitates the surgical process and can reduce surgical risk by providing alerts to surgeons of potential harm to spinal cord or neural structures.
