Maine Nurses to Hold Conference in Bangor
The Maine chapter of the American Nurses Association will hold its annual conference and business meeting on Oct. 23 in Bangor.
Nurses from across the state will convene to discuss issues such as safe staffing practices, the legislative process, employment opportunities for nurses with disabilities, maintaining a positive workplace environment and more.
Speakers include Mary Jean Schumann, ANA director of nursing practice and policy; Lisa Harvey-McPherson, director of health policy and continuing care for Eastern Maine Healthcare Systems in Bangor; Carolyn McKinzie, member of the Amputee Coalition of America; Sandra Armington, member of the MaineGeneral Medical Center’s Green Team; and Ed Latham, the coordinator of Dynamic Solutions at St. Mary’s d’Youville Pavilion in Lewiston.
A silent auction will benefit the ANA-MAINE Nursing Scholarship Fund.
The event will be held at the Spectacular Event Center, 395 Griffin Road.
Registration will open at 7:45 a.m. and the program will start at 8:30 a.m. Registration is $60 for nonmembers, $45 for members and $25 for student nurses. There is a $25 fee for the annual business meeting or luncheon only.
