TV Doc to Visit Welsh Mental Health Charity
CELEBRITY TV doctor Hilary Jones will be visiting a South Wales mental health charity this week.
As part of Mental Health Week in Rhondda Cynon Taf, the GMTV medical expert will help re-launch the updated dedicated information website at NewHorizons, Aberdare, on Thursday.
The drop-in event will include a range of free work shops, information and advice stalls, as well as the chance to chat to Dr Hilary.
The website www.mental healthsupport.co.uk has been developed and produced by New Horizons in partnership with RCT council and service users.
It provides access to 24-hour peer support, information and contact details for a range of support services locally and nationally.
Councillor Mike Forey, cabinet member for health and adult services, said.”One in four people will experience some kind of mental health problem during the course of their lives.
“Our aim is to help people tackle these difficulties and raise awareness of the services we have on offer.
“Dr Hilary Jones will give our campaign a great boost and we can’t wait to welcome him to the Valleys.”
