Alert on Superbug

HEALTH experts are warning hospitals of a deadly superbug which is closing wards nationwide.

The Health Protection Agency say the winter vomiting bug, Norovirus, will infect a million patients this winter and have urged hospitals to improve hygiene.

The Agency have had reports of outbreaks in hospitals in Falkirk, Kidderminster, Sheffield, Somerset and Wolverhampton. Dozens of wards have closed and hundreds of operations have been cancelled.

Norovirus is particularly dangerous for the old because those infected often can't eat or drink.
