Barton Postie Helps Life-Saving Service
A Postman from Barton-Upon-Humber is hoping to deliver some valuable funds for a service he saw in action during an emergency.
Fundraiser Martin Wharton (41) from Providence Crescent, is hosting a quiz to raise money for the Lincolnshire Integrated Voluntary Emergency Service (LIVES).
LIVES is a charity which helps the East Midlands Ambulance Service respond to emergencies across the county.
The first responder group hopes to reach patients in a few minutes, especially in rural areas.
The postman saw one elderly lady on his round lying on the floor.
A 999 call for an ambulance saw a first responder there in a few minutes.
Martin said: "I was so surprised to hear they do not get any official funding and must rely on donations."
The fundraising pub quiz will be held at the Carnival Inn, Barton- Upon-Humber on Saturday October 18 at 8pm.
Every is pounds1 and all proceeds go to the LIVES organisation.
