Physician Offers New, Old-Fashioned Health Care to Duluth Area Patients

DULUTH, Ga., Oct. 15 /PRNewswire/ -- Mathew J. Britton, M.D., will open a new primary care practice designed to appeal to patients in search of a user-friendly alternative to the long wait times, rushed appointments and lack of personal interaction that most patients experience with their doctors.

The latest of several ModernMed practices nationwide, Dr. Britton will serve patients in the Duluth and metro Atlanta area and is scheduled to open on Nov. 10. The practice will accommodate a maximum of only 500 patients, compared to the 2,500 patient load of the average primary medical practice.

Concierge medicine is gaining popularity across the nation as a growing number of Americans report dissatisfaction with current health care services. Studies have shown that adults in the U.S. report lower levels of satisfaction with their health care compared to residents of similar countries like the U.K. and Canada.

Dr. Britton believes in a strong educational background to provide quality services to his patients. "Solid education and training are very important to being a good doctor," said Dr. Britton. "This is why I continually increase my knowledge of medical care with 30 hours of additional training through the Intensive Family Practice Review, biweekly programs on advances in medicine."

The distinguishing characteristic of the practice is the extraordinary level of access to Dr. Britton and his staff. In addition to regular office hours of Monday, Tuesday and Thursday 7:30 a.m. to 4 p.m., Wednesday 2:30 p.m. to 4 p.m. and Friday 7:30 a.m. to 12 p.m., patients are guaranteed same-day or next-day appointments, and Dr. Britton will make house calls to help those with limited access to care. Patients can also contact him 24 / 7 through email or mobile phone.

Dr. Britton will treat patients age five and older with a broad range of wellness services to complement his preventive approach to primary health care. Patients will receive annual comprehensive wellness exams and have direct access to their electronic medical records. Services include in-house x-rays, minor surgeries, asthma treatment, IV therapy, cardiac stress testing and well-woman care. Dr. Britton also specializes in cosmetic services including, Botox, Juviderm and Restalyn and lipodissolve.

A graduate of the Ohio State University College of Medicine, Dr. Britton is board-certified by the American Academy of Family Physicians. He completed both his internship and residency at Mercy Hospital Family Practice in Toledo, Ohio.

Dr. Britton has published several studies in his career, including those on gatifloxacin, imitrex impact, respiratory surveillance study and microbiology surveillance study of community acquired respiratory tract infections. His work also includes an abstract for the American Heart Association focusing on patients with previous revascularization.

He is a member of the American Medical Association, the Southern Medical Association, the International Society of Lipolysistherapy, the American Academy of Anti-Aging Medicine and the General Composite State Board of Medical Examiners.

Located at 5955 State Bridge Road, Suite 240 in Duluth, Dr. Britton is a member of ModernMed's forward-thinking primary health care service firm, focused on providing a revolutionary health care experience unlike any traditional medical practice.
