OnePoint Patient Care, an independent hospice pharmacy services provider, announced today that Catholic Hospice has selected OnePoint's new Florida pharmacy as its exclusive provider of hospice pharmacy services. Catholic Hospice is a community-based, not-for-profit hospice that offers responsive, quality end-of-life care to people of all ages and faiths throughout Florida's Miami-Dade, Broward and Monroe Counties.
"We are very excited to be OnePoint Patient Care's first hospice partner in Florida, as our patients will benefit greatly from the many advantages OnePoint provides," said Brian Payne, President and CEO of Catholic Hospice. "OnePoint's local pharmacists, 24-hour accessibility and prompt, local delivery will help ensure we are not only handling our patients' care effectively and cost-efficiently, but that we are allowing them to live out the remainder of their lives as comfortably as possible."
OnePoint Patient Care is the nation's leading local hospice pharmacy services provider, filling prescriptions, creating custom compounds and providing home deliveries for an average of 7,500 patients per day. The pharmacy's local operations provide 24-hour accessibility, personal interaction, accurate prescriptions and prompt delivery, allowing hospices to get patients their medications quickly, simply and reliably. In addition, OnePoint is introducing clinical consulting and cost management services in the fourth quarter that give its hospice partners a complete local dispensing and clinical solution that no other pharmacy or pharmacy benefits manager can provide.
"We are thrilled to begin serving Catholic Hospice in its mission of providing skillful and compassionate care to persons at the end of life and those that love and care for them," said John Otterbeck, President of OnePoint's Florida division. "With our new facility in Florida, every step in the process -- from the ordering of a prescription to its delivery to the patient's doorstep -- is handled locally. This means unprecedented, personalized service that allows our hospice partners to provide the highest level of care to their patients."
