ORLANDO, Fla., Oct. 17 /PRNewswire/ -- In the U.S., approximately one in eight couples of childbearing age are infertile, and each year about 1.2 million couples visit a fertility specialist for help trying to conceive (source: CDC).
Conceive Magazine is the must-have, go-to resource for any woman who wants to keep herself healthy so she can achieve a healthy pregnancy -- now, soon, or later. Conceive's readers are thinking about family building, and the new special issue, "The Birds, The Bees, and Modern Medicine" is the ultimate guide to state-of-the-art fertility science and treatments.
The issue is being released to coincide with RESOLVE's National Infertility Awareness Week, October 19-25, 2008. Conceive, together with RESOLVE, the National Infertility Association, reaches out to the 7.3 million Americans who have problems getting pregnant.
"There needs to be more education, a more active dialogue, and more available resources on all aspects of having a healthy conception and ultimately a healthy baby," says Kim Hahn, Founder and CEO of Conceive.
Conceive's special issue will be available for free online as a digital issue at conceiveonline.com and in nearly 30,000 gynecologists' offices nationwide.
This special issue focuses entirely on the steps to take when natural conception doesn't work. The issue's four sections outline the path a couple would take when pregnancy doesn't occur after six months to a year of trying:
Section 1: When it's Time for Medical Advice Section 2: First-line Fertility treatments Section 3: High-tech Help Section 4: Other Ways to Get Pregnant
"With this special issue we're targeting the women who need some extra help in their journey," says Hahn. "We're also making the idea of fertility treatment less daunting for women who are starting to try -- or just thinking about trying to conceive. If the time comes that they need to consult a doctor, they'll be prepared."
