SeniorBridge Executive Receives Hunter College School of Social Work Achievement Award

As part of their 50th Anniversary celebration, The Hunter College School of Social Work honored alumna Claudia Fine for her achievements in the field of Aging. Ms. Fine is Executive Vice President, Chief Professional Officer of SeniorBridge, a care management company that serves seniors and their families by managing chronic health conditions in the home and other settings. Others honored at the event were Dr. Rose Dobrof, DSW, Brookdale Professor of Gerontology, and Commissioner Edwin Mendez-Santiago, MSW, LCSW, New York City Department of Aging. The event was held on Thursday, October 16 at Hunter College School of Social Work.
Dr. Carmen Morano, Associate Professor, Hunter College School of Social Work, said, "Claudia has been a pioneer in the field of geriatric care. Her work in the field of care management has created important options to help the New York area address the enormous challenges posed by the needs of our aging baby boomers. She has dedicated herself to the field of social work, always providing insightful, creative solutions to the needs of the elderly."
Ms. Fine has worked in the field of eldercare for more than 20 years in hospitals, community-based programs, and as a founding partner of New York City-based Fine and Newcombe Associates, a pioneering firm in private eldercare. In 2000, her company was acquired by SeniorBridge, of which she became a founding member. She is the former President of the National Association of Professional Geriatric Care Managers, and a current member of the New York Society for Clinical Social Work Psychotherapists and the American Society on Aging. Ms. Fine has a Master's degree in Public Health from Columbia University School of Public Health and a Master's degree in Social Work from Hunter College School of Social Work.
