Zuran brings more than 15 years of industry experience to the company's development of new solutions that focus on the start of the revenue cycle. His extensive knowledge of regulatory issues and strong background in the areas of eligibility programs, financial services and revenue cycle operations, including patient access, discharge planning, case management and health information management, will prove invaluable in the expansion of Cymetrix's seamless approach to total revenue cycle management. He will play a key role in the launch of Cymetrix's new Comprehensive Self Pay Solution on Nov. 1.

Zuran's diverse background includes working with a wide variety of providers, including LifeCare hospitals, Tenet Healthcare and other New York City-based multi-hospital systems and medical centers. He has managerial experience with both providers and government agencies.

Zuran will be based out of the company's Lewisville office in Texas, and reports to Al Franklin, senior vice president and chief operating officer.

"Jim brings many years of unique experience to the position," said Franklin. "He is a rare hybrid with experience in the front-end as well as the back-end of the revenue cycle process, and with both provider and governmental experience."

Prior to joining Cymetrix(SM), Zuran was employed as the Director of Finance for LifeCare Hospitals of Plano in Texas, and served as interim Director of Finance for LifeCare Hospitals of Shreveport in Louisiana.

Zuran served on several subcommittees for the Greater New York Hospital Association (GNYHA). While in New York, he also helped create the Continuum Health Partners Financial Assistance (Charity Care) Program. He earned a BA from Brooklyn College, C.U.N.Y., Brooklyn, NY.

"In this ever increasing age of insurance denials and regulatory scrutiny, it is imperative we provide solutions that address front-end issues such as insurance and identity verification, coordination of benefits, treatment authorization, eligibility and entitlement advocacy," said Zuran. "These solutions will minimize potential denials and improve the clean claim drop rate, which will result in lower accounts receivable days and quicker reimbursement for our clients."

As part of Cymetrix's focus on the front-end of the revenue cycle the company will offer a new Comprehensive Self Pay Solution. This solution takes new processes and technologies for improving patient pre-registration and identifying third-party/entitlement funding, and integrates it with traditional self-pay collection programs to offer its clients a complete solution. Zuran will share responsibility with Lori Zern, vice president of Patient Financial Services, for the launch.

This comprehensive approach that identifies opportunities for revenue cycle performance improvement is at the core of the company's success. The key to improvement is Cymetrix's Adaptive Revenue Cycle Solutions Model. This model has the flexibility to accommodate the specific needs of each client, while providing a seamless approach to total revenue cycle management that integrates Patient Access, Health Information Management and Patient Financial Services.
