BALTIMORE, Oct. 24 /PRNewswire/ -- XLHealth, owner of Care Improvement Plus, one of the nation's largest Medicare chronic condition special needs plans, today announced plans to open a new corporate service center in the Montgomery Park Business Center, located at 1800 Washington Boulevard in Baltimore.
The center is a direct result of the company's rapid growth throughout the past two years and will be used to house eight departments providing services to Care Improvement Plus members and providers, including its clinical and member service call centers. The company plans to complete build-out of the approximately 40,000 square foot space by early 2009, in conjunction with the addition of offices to its corporate headquarters located at the Warehouse in Camden Yards.
"This new center will enhance our capabilities and the coordination of Care Improvement Plus services for both members and providers," said Paul Serini, executive vice president of XLHealth. "The amazing growth XLHealth has undergone during the past two years speaks to the vast need for healthcare services that improve quality of care for those with chronic illness -- we are pleased to be part of the solution."
XLHealth joins an array of office tenants at Montgomery Park including M&T Bank, Chubb Insurance, the Maryland Department of the Environment, the Maryland State Lottery Agency, NCO Financial Group, ACS State and Local Solutions, URS, Alpha Construction and Engineering and Chambers Interiors, among others. Montgomery Park is the largest office complex in the region and has leased over 800,000 square feet of space.
In 2007, XLHealth undertook a major expansion of Care Improvement Plus, its chronic condition special needs plan for Medicare beneficiaries with diabetes, heart failure, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) and/or end stage renal disease (ESRD). XLHealth now employs more than 400 staff members across plan service areas in Arkansas, Georgia, Maryland, Missouri, South Carolina, and Texas.
