Mayo Clinic and Winn-Dixie Partner to Provide Health Information to Consumers Online
Winn-Dixie (NASDAQ:WINN) and Mayo Clinic announced the launch of a significant online initiative designed to expand the health and wellness resources available on the grocer's website. Beginning today, consumers visiting www.winn-dixie.com will find health-related information and special recipes. Additionally, a different health topic will be featured each month online as well as in the stores and advertising circulars.
"Helping people live healthier lives is something Winn-Dixie is committed to, so this is a logical partnership for us," said Anthony Agresta, Winn-Dixie's director of electronic and customer marketing. "In addition to offering our fresh produce, selections of naturals and organics, quarterly pharmacy wellness clinics, and supporting health-related organizations in our communities, joining forces with a prestigious organization like Mayo Clinic enables us to further help our customers make informed decisions about their health."
While numerous healthy Mayo Clinic recipes will be available on the website, Winn-Dixie will feature a recipe of the month in its advertising circular and in its stores with pharmacies. The grocer has also developed eight different brochures with Mayo Clinic content on various health topics that will be available to shoppers throughout the year.
Information provided by Mayo Clinic will cover topics such as diabetes, cold and flu, nutrition, healthy diet, heart disease, digestion, asthma and allergy, men's health, sun safety, cholesterol and breast cancer.
