IntrinsiQ, a provider of medical oncology workflow solutions, has announced that the Cancer Center of South Florida has selected its clinical software IntelliDose to manage critical chemotherapy treatments in its all-electronic practice.
The Cancer Center of South Florida, which opened its doors in July 2008, will use IntelliDose to create treatment trees, eliminate the potential for human error in chemotherapy dosing, and streamline the efficiency of the practice, said IntrinsiQ.
The two-oncologist practice will also use IntelliDose to offer patients local access to cutting-edge clinical trials without needing to re-locate to the academic research centers that sponsor them. Only an oncology-specific clinical software solution can capture and track the highly regimented dosing - and reporting - involved in a clinical trial.
IntelliDose integrates seamlessly with the paperless practice's centricity electronic medical record (EMR) software, and provides the critical flexibility and functionality that the specialty of oncology requires, added IntrinsiQ.
Ted Owens, general manager of IntelliDose software division at IntrinsiQ, said: "The practice of oncology is shifting under our feet. Physicians are seeing more patients, and patients have options than ever to choose from. IntelliDose provides the safety checks and functionality needed to deliver the best possible patient care."
