Affiliated Computer Services has won a five-year, $44m contract from Florida's Agency for Healthcare Administration, AHCA, to implement a third-party liability program for Florida Medicaid.
ACS will deploy its business process and web-based technologies to provide third-party recovery sources such as commercial health insurance plans, Medicare, casualty, estate, trust, and annuity plans. It said this will enable state Medicaid programs to identify alternate insurance sources prior to Medicaid claims payment.
Christopher Deelsnyder, senior vice president and managing director at ACS's government healthcare division, said: "Our extensive TPL product offering will revolutionize the government healthcare market by allowing Medicaid programs to proactively identify alternate insurance sources. These services are especially important in today's current environment where most states are facing major budget challenges."
