Accumetrics Names New Chief Medical Officer

Accumetrics, a provider of accessible diagnostic tests for rapid platelet function assessment, has appointed John Young as its new chief medical officer.

Dr Young will serve in a part-time capacity in addition to his current appointment as professor of medicine and director of the cardiovascular innovations program at the Ohio State University in Columbus, Ohio. He will also serve as the main liaison to practicing clinicians, as well as coordinating ongoing research efforts and educational strategies.

Prior to joining the Ohio State University Medical Center, Dr Young was the co-director of cardiovascular research and education at the Swedish Heart & Vascular Institute in Seattle, Washington.

Dr Young has received his MD from The Ohio State University College of Medicine, where he completed both his residency and fellowship training. Dr Young also holds a bachelor of science degree in chemistry, with honors, from Wright State University, Dayton, Ohio.
