Coventry Health Care/HealthAmerica has expanded its current service area to include recently launched Medicare Advantage coverage for eligible Medicare beneficiaries in the following Pennsylvania counties:
-- Adams County
-- Carbon County
-- Columbia County
-- Lackawanna County
-- Lycoming County
-- Mifflin County
-- Monroe County
-- Montour County
-- Northumberland County
-- Schuylkill County
-- Sullivan County
-- Wyoming County
Coventry Health Care/HealthAmerica's current service area includes:
-- Berks County
-- Centre County
-- Cumberland County
-- Dauphin County
-- Lancaster County
-- Lebanon County
-- Lehigh County
-- Luzerne County
-- Northampton County
-- Perry County
-- York County
During the Medicare Annual Enrollment Period, which runs from November 15 through December 31, Medicare beneficiaries in these counties can enroll for coverage that includes services not routinely offered by Original Medicare, including:
-- Premiums as low as $0
-- No in-network deductibles
-- Prescription drug coverage - even through the coverage gap
-- No- or low-cost preventive benefits
-- Low out-of-pocket expenses that puts a fixed limit on how much beneficiaries have to pay for health care costs in a year
-- Health club membership at no extra cost and no initiation fees
Depending on the plan options selected, Medicare beneficiaries can take advantage of these benefits for no additional monthly plan premium.
"Given the current economic situation, Medicare eligibles and their families are understandably concerned about getting the most value for their dollar," said Robert O'Connor, vice president/general manager, Medicare Operations for HealthAmerica. "The Medicare Advantage plans offered by Coventry Health Care/HealthAmerica offer a way to get coverage and service beyond what is offered by Original Medicare, in many cases for no additional monthly plan premium."
"Our priorities are to help Medicare eligible beneficiaries be healthy, save money and be independent," he added.
Coventry Health Care/HealthAmerica is also one of only a few insurers in the state to offer Special Needs Plans (SNPs) for those eligible for Medicare and Medicaid as well as those with chronic health conditions.
AdvantraOne(SM) offers coverage for anyone eligible for Medicare and Medicaid living in the plan's service area. Those unsure of their status can visit www.BenefitsCheckUp.org/Coventry, a website designed in partnership with the National Council on Aging to help the many Medicare beneficiaries-especially those with limited incomes-who may be missing out on assistance from federal, state and local programs that can help with prescription drugs, nutrition, utilities and much more.
Individuals wishing to learn more can call 1-800-970-0421 (TTY/TDD 1-888-788-4010) to schedule a home visit by a plan representative, attendance at one of the plan's sales seminars or to request an information packet. Additional information can also be found at www.medicare3things.com/CPA.
Coventry Health Care/HealthAmerica is also working with licensed insurance agents and brokers statewide to provide information to their clients.
"Our agents and brokers must pass a rigorous examination on Medicare and on our products before being allowed to promote our plans to beneficiaries," noted O'Connor. "We want to be sure that Medicare beneficiaries get the information they want and need to help them make the right choice for them."
