CHI Signs Preferred Vendor Agreement With NCR

Catholic Health Initiatives has signed a preferred vendor agreement with NCR Corporation, a technology company, for self-service kiosks.

The NCR MediKiosk technology is designed to eliminate the need for staff to re-enter patient demographic and insurance information into hospital information systems, resulting in fewer claim denials and improved cash flow, said NCR.

According to NCR, MediKiosk enables patients to choose either English or Spanish to begin the check-in process. Patients swipe a credit card or driver’s license or enter their name directly on the kiosk, along with an additional identifier, such as a birth date. The kiosk engages the patient to view and confirm appointment information, enter insurance information, electronically sign forms and pay outstanding payments or co-payments prior to service.
