Cincinnati Children's, an international leader in improving child health, serves the medical needs of infants, children, and adolescents with family-centered care, innovative research, and outstanding teaching programs. Cincinnati Children's was established in 1883 and is a full-service, not-for-profit pediatric academic medical center servicing patients from more than 48 countries and all 50 states.
"We are excited about taking our imaging services to the next level with
AMICAS," said
Under the terms of the agreement, Cincinnati Children's will utilize new, Web-based technology for integrated reading, productivity, and critical results management initiatives. Included in the partnership are AMICAS PACS(TM), AMICAS Reach (TM), and AMICAS RadStream(TM) solutions.
"AMICAS was able to provide a unique blend of technology and partnership to meet our specific needs," said Dr. Donnelly. "With AMICAS, we are able to replace our legacy PACS with a 100 percent Web-based solution that includes RadStream for critical results management and productivity initiatives, a state-of-the-art clinical toolset with the Halo Viewer in AMICAS PACS Version 6.0, and a unique ability to complement our forthcoming Epic Systems Radiant RIS solution.
"The Epic-AMICAS partnership was an important differentiator for AMICAS during our selection process. We are very impressed with what Epic and AMICAS are doing to integrate their solutions to provide an excellent end-user experience and streamlined workflow support," said Dr. Donnelly.
As a 100 percent Web-based solution, AMICAS PACS was designed to enable radiologists to provide excellent patient care through powerful workflow capabilities and clinical tools. RadStream was designed to reduce medical-legal risk by automating and documenting critical results communications. RadStream also automates the prioritization of imaging exams based on a "most likely to interrupt" method, which has been shown to dramatically increase radiologist productivity.
"We are excited about our new partnership with Cincinnati Children's, one
of the most respected healthcare providers in the world," said
