BOSTON, Dec. 15 /PRNewswire/ -- The Endovascular Forum, Inc. (EVF), an IC Sciences Company, and its partner the Society for Cardiovascular Angiography and Interventions (SCAI), announced a collaboration to accelerate the influence of Electronic Medical Care Advancement for complex clinical skills development in Cardiovascular medicine. The partnership is an extension of the Endovascular Forum's commitment to developing a new generation of tools for physicians to learn from peer experiences and to improve clinical treatment decisions and practices. "We are pleased to have the opportunity to collaborate with the Society for Cardiovascular Angiography and Interventions," said Robert Reid, president of The Endovascular Forum, Inc. "This partnership reinforces a common vision of a multi-disciplinary or specialty electronic medical care advancement approach towards improved cardiovascular and endovascular care delivery. Currently there are over 10,000 physicians and allied healthcare professionals across the globe exchanging ideas, experiences, and treatment techniques on the EndoVascular.Org electronic medical care advancement platform. This translates to accelerated circulation of expertise and, very simply, better treatments for sick people."

Electronic Medical Care Advancement Instruments employed on the EndoVascular.Org platform represent a class of medical informatics instruments that apply scientific design principles effectively to engage multi-specialty groups of clinicians in exchanging information, observations, and viewpoints to advance the community's collective understanding of how best to advance their respective fields of clinical care delivery. Examples of techniques employed by EndoVascular.Org for high-impact collective intelligence instruments include narrative tools, user-generated tagging, and meta-data collection.

Bonnie H. Weiner, MD, MSEC, MBA, FSCAI, immediate past president of SCAI and chair of SCAI's committee on web-based communications and education, explained the clinical value of this platform: "The range and complexity of cardiovascular diseases requires electronic medical care advancement platforms that provide for the rapid exchange and dissemination of multi-specialty clinical information, knowledge and experiences among healthcare professionals involved in the diagnosis and treatment of cardiovascular and endovascular disease. SCAI is pleased to partner with EVF to offer a sophisticated electronic medical care advancement platform for Interventional Cardiologists all around the world. SCAI's partnership with EVF is yet another way that we are working to optimize medical care for patients worldwide."

With the addition of SCAI members to the www.EndoVascular.Org electronic medical care advancement community, the Endovascular Forum's online, global clinician network is significantly expanded to include the disciplines of invasive and interventional cardiovascular medicine. This also provides interaction for SCAI members in the disciplines of vascular medicine, interventional radiology, and vascular surgery resulting from the Endovascular Forum's internal membership as well as that of the Endovascular Forum's partnerships with the International Symposia for Endovascular Therapy (http://www.ISET.org), the Society for Vascular Medicine (http://www.svmb.org), and Controversies in Dialysis Access (http://www.aievolution.com/cda0801). The result is an experientially diverse Cardiovascular and Endovascular community representing 15,000 physician and allied healthcare members in over 52 countries worldwide, which is statistically representative for electronic medical care advancement in cardiovascular and endovascular medicine.
