Millard Fillmore Hospital Gets Organ Donation Award

Millard Fillmore Hospital is among 184 hospitals nationwide awarded the Organ Donation Medal of Honor for its success in obtaining organs from eligible donors, Kaleida Health officials announced Thursday.
The award, from the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services and the Health Resources and Services Administration, recognizes Millard Fillmore Hospital for achieving the national organ donation rate goal of 75 percent during a 12-month period.
Buffalo General Hospital, another Kaleida Health facility, received a Collaborative Recognition Award Certificate for its donor conversion rate of 65 to 74 percent.
