Cogdell Memorial Hospital Partners with Healthcare Management Systems

HMS to help Snyder, Texas, hospital go online with electronic health records

NASHVILLE, Tenn., Jan. 7 /PRNewswire/ -- Healthcare Management Systems, Inc.(R) (HMS) announced today that they and Cogdell Memorial Hospital are embarking upon a new partnership. Cogdell Memorial selected HMS to supply a fully integrated financial and clinical hospital information system to get the Snyder, Texas hospital closer to electronic health records (EHR) for its patients.

Cogdell Memorial had been working with a financials-only system from APS when they began a year-long search for a new solution partner that would grow with them.

"We were looking to acquire an integrated system with an EHR in order to enhance our ability to provide patient care because we know that government requirements are forthcoming, and we want to be ahead of the game," said John Everett, chief financial officer for Cogdell Memorial Hospital.
