Christopher Alvarado, LMT Elected to AMTA National Board of Directors
Christopher has been a strong leader for the members of the AMTA-IL Chapter as well as all licensed massage therapists in the state of
AMTA-IL members elected him Chapter President in the spring of 2006, and re-elected him again in 2008. As Chapter President, Christopher has worked extensively to garner a wider recognition of massage as a wellness and complementary healthcare tool among the medical/healthcare community. In addition, Christopher has made the AMTA-IL Chapter a “community” where massage therapists can come together to network, share, and develop professional and personal relationships.

The American Massage Therapy Association(R) (AMTA(R)) is a professional association of more than 58,000 members. AMTA Professional members have demonstrated a level of skill and knowledge through education and/or testing and must meet continuing education requirements to retain membership. The association is directed by volunteer leadership, elected by the membership, and fosters ongoing, direct member-involvement through its 51 chapters.
