TEAC America Launches its Next Generation P-55C Printer, World’s Fastest Dye-Sublimation Disc Printer

January 8, 2009

MONTEBELLO, Calif., Jan. 8 /PRNewswire/ — TEAC America, Inc. launches its
next generation P-55C dye-sublimation thermal disc printer, currently the
fastest thermal dye-sublimation disc printer available, during the CES Show at
the Las Vegas Convention Center, January 8-11, 2009.

The P-55C printer can be integrated with 3 TEAC Autoprinter
configurations, TEAC AL-220S, AL-550S and TEAC Discathlon 2. With TEAC’s
AL220S and AL550S, customers can print up to 68 discs per hour, the fastest
possible today. With the Discathlon Autoprinter, using two P-55C printers,
speeds increase to an incredible 138 discs per hour. No other company even
comes close to these speeds.

The P-55C printer incorporates dye-sublimation technology. Compared to
re-transfer printing technology, dye-sublimation is the only print technology
that produces superior color-blending and the smoothest gradients.
Photo-quality images can only be produced with dye-sublimation technology. The
P-55C also produces the most superior “text” on printed discs using Color
Ribbon technology. Color ribbon uses CMYK technology with “True-Black.”

The P-55C is also the most versatile thermal disc printer. With the
exclusive VersaMax ribbon designed for the P-55C, customers can print on most
media, reducing their cost per print dramatically. TEAC has the lowest ribbon
prices and by combining that with the lowest media costs, customers can
achieve the lowest cost per print.

The P-55C is the most widely supported printer by 3rd party robotics’
manufacturers. It is currently supported by 6 robotics’ manufacturers. This
means, that upgrading to TEAC’s P-55C is easier than ever. Customers can use
the P-55C with their existing robotic system and do not have to replace their
entire system.

TEAC will display the P-55C thermal disc printer and its complete line of
disc publishing products in our booth, number 15534, during the CES Show, at
the Las Vegas Convention Center, January 8-11, 2009. TEAC’s Disc Publishing
line is available through TEAC distributors and resellers.
