Kurt Salmon Associates Names John Karonis President of Retail and Consumer Products Group

Dr. Wolf Wagner named Managing Director in Europe

NEW YORK, Jan. 23 /PRNewswire/ -- Kurt Salmon Associates (KSA), global management consulting firm, appointed John Karonis President of its Retail and Consumer Products Group. The announcement was made by Mark Wietecha, Chairman of KSA.

Karonis was formerly Managing Director, North America. In his new role, he will add oversight for the firm's retail practices in Asia and Europe.

"John Karonis possesses the unique blend of team-spirit and leadership skills to manage a global consulting practice while being finely attuned to the needs of our clients," KSA Chairman, Mark Wietecha said. "This KSA management team has worked together for more than two decades, and we look forward to continued success for the firm and our clients," Wietecha concluded.

In 2007, Mr. Karonis was named Managing Director, North America. During his KSA career, he has been a Vice President, member of the Board of Directors, and National Director of KSA's Supply Chain Practice. In these roles, he has worked with leading retailers in Europe and North America, including Wal-Mart, Aeropostale, Talbots, B&Q, Staples, and Macys. He has also been active in the development of industry-changing thought leadership, including Act Vertical, KSA's most recent perspective on the retail industry.

A graduate of the U.S. Naval Academy, Karonis received his master's degree in business administration from Golden Gate University. Prior to his career with KSA, he was a Naval Flight Officer and F-14 Mission Commander for the U.S. Navy.

Mr. Karonis resides in Philadelphia, PA.

Wagner named Managing Director, Europe

Additionally, Dr. Wolf Wagner has been named Managing Director, Europe.

Wagner led KSA´s Consumer Goods group in Germany, its most successful region in Europe, for the past five years. He manages major transformational projects in redesigning and implementing vertically driven processes and structures in buying and selling. He is known as being very adept at strategic initiatives for his CEO clients. Wagner has also advised his clients in many successful and highly visible merger and acquisition transactions. His major clients include Metro, Spar, Escada, Kaufhof and Gamma. Mr. Wagner resides in Dusseldorf, Germany.
