LANSING, Mich., Jan. 27 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ — Neogen Corporation
(Nasdaq: NEOG) announced today that it has entered into an agreement to become
the distributor of Chr. Hansen’s innovative probiotic feed supplements for the
North American swine and poultry markets.

The three-year agreement expands Neogen’s comprehensive list of products
it offers for the swine and poultry markets, which also includes veterinary
instruments, injectables, and its broad line of disinfectants. Under terms of
the agreement, Neogen is granted the distributorship of the feed supplements
BioPlus(R) 2Bw and GalliPro Tect WS designed for water application in the
United States
, Mexico, Caribbean, and Central America.

“We believe Christian Hansen is the clear market leader in this arena, and
the use of its innovative feed products will continue to grow as swine and
poultry producers seek better alternatives to the use of antibiotics to manage
disease,” said James Herbert, Neogen’s chief executive officer. “With our
tests for bacterial pathogens, natural toxins in feed grains and antibiotic
residues, and our disinfectants and veterinary instruments that we already
offer to the swine and poultry markets, Christian Hansen’s products are a
natural fit to Neogen’s overall mission.”

BioPlus 2Bw and GalliPro Tect are all-natural feed supplements that
contain beneficial probiotic bacteria to naturally help improve swine and
poultry feed conversion, and increase weight gain.

“The cooperation with Neogen immediately broadens our access to the swine
and poultry integrator market in the U.S., and into Central America and the
Caribbean countries. We expect strong growth in sales over the next three
years,” said Dr. Bill Braman, vice president of marketing and sales, Animal
Health & Nutrition, Chr. Hansen NA. “We also see other long-term opportunities
with Neogen, such as cooperating to develop additional products for the swine
and poultry sectors, and in the dairy and beef cattle segments.”

BetaStar(R) rapid dairy antibiotic tests.
