eFoodSafety Enters Research Agreement with University of Minnesota to Test New Food-Grade Antiviral for Swine Influenza Virus

SCOTTSDALE, Ariz., Jan. 29 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- eFoodSafety.com, Inc. (OTC Bulletin Board: EFSF), an emerging healthcare consumer products company with a portfolio of aesthetics, dermatology, environmental and nutraceutical products, today announced that they have signed a research agreement with the University of Minnesota to test Citroxin, an antiviral compound, for combating the Swine Influenza Virus in livestock.

Citroxin, developed by eFoodSafety.com's wholly-owned subsidiary, Knock-Out Technologies, Ltd., is an environmentally safe compound formulated entirely of food-grade components. The eFoodSafety.com-sponsored research will focus on the efficacy of Citroxin for use as a farm animal feed additive. Sagar M. Goyal, DVM, PhD, Professor of Virology in the Department of Veterinary Population Medicine, will lead the research.

The one-year agreement, which was entered into on December 15, 2008, funds one year of research led by Dr. Goyal. His team will focus on the specific Citroxin dosage requirements necessary to fight Swine Influenza Virus.
