Dr. Ricky Takai, Expert in Designing and Managing Federal Evaluation Studies in Education, Joins Abt Associates

Most recently, Dr. Takai served as Associate Commissioner in the National Center for Education Evaluation and Regional Assistance, Institute of Education Sciences, U.S. Department of Education. In this role he was responsible for national evaluations of major federal education programs including Title I and IDEA. Prior to that, Dr. Takai served as the division director for program evaluation in the Planning and Evaluation Service. He has directed program evaluations in a wide range of education areas such as early reading, educational technology, professional development, math and science education, drug prevention, dropout prevention, high school reform, vocational and adult education, and postsecondary education. In addition, Dr. Takai has served as the Acting Assistant Secretary in the Office of Educational Research and Improvement and the Office of Vocational and Adult Education.
