Business operators seeking solutions to the rising costs of employee health plans are invited to attend a free exposition featuring several leading health insurance providers. The event is presented by Allentown-hased Valley Preferred.

The Greater Lehigh Valley Health Expo is stated for Thursday, June 9, from 8:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Holiday Inn, located at Routes 22 and 512 in Bethlehem. It promises to provide business owners and operators, large and small, with an opportunity to address cost questions and shop for better healthcare coverage options through several of the health insurance carriers contracted localty with Valley Preferred, a preferred provider organization (PPO).

“Whether you have two employees or 200, containing costs for employee health plans is a leading concern for today’s business owners and managers,” said Laura Mertz, Valley Preferred’s director of sales and marketing. “This expo provides a convenient way for local business people to meet face-to-face with leading health insurance experts to get answers, and hopefully Solutions, to their health plan questions. Shopping for health care plan value can be a long, complicated process. We’re trying to simplify it with this one- stop-shop format.”

Among the leading questions Mertz anticipates employers will bring to the expo: “What can I do about spiraling premium costs? What are my options? Are health savings accounts or health reimbursement arrangements the way to go? Basically, the bottom line question will be what every business operator seems to be asking – how can I contain my employee healthcare costs?”

Among the health insurance companies stated to exhibit are American Medical Security, Assurant Health, Geisinger Health Plan, HealthAmerica/HealthAssurance Coventry Health Care Plans, Inter- County Hospitalization Plan, Inc., John Alien, Oxford Health Plans and UnitedHealthcare.

Additional features of the expo include free health screenings, information on corporate wellness programs, interactive health risk assessment tools and Q & A booths.

Admission to The Greater Lehigh Valley Health Expo is free to all area business owners and operators but advanced registration is recommended. To register or obtain additional information, contact Valley Preferred at (610) 402-7485.
