Sechrist Introduces Hyperbaric Industry's First Patient-Positioning Pads Designed for Use in Hyperbaric Chambers

ANAHEIM, Calif., Feb. 10 /PRNewswire/ -- The hyperbaric industry's first ever patient-positioning pads developed specifically for use in hyperbaric oxygen chambers have been introduced by Sechrist Industries, the world leader in hyperbaric chambers. The Sechrist HBO2 Patient Comfort Positioning Pads(TM) are available in three multifunctional configurations -- wedge, lumbar support and lateral support -- to give maximum versatility and flexibility in achieving optimum patient comfort during treatment. The HBO2 Patient Comfort Positioning Pads have the compact size, flame and moisture retardation and conductivity required for use in high oxygen concentration environments.

The three configurations of the Sechrist HBO2 Patient Comfort Positioning Pads are each multifunctional:

• Wedge - allows the patient's legs to be comfortably elevated, eliminating excessive back pressure. The pad is specially designed with depressions to relieve pressure on the feet and ankles, while maintaining the feet in a horizontal position. The Wedge can also be used to elevate a patient's head and shoulders by placing it behind the back.
• Lumbar Support Pad - relieves back pressure when placed under the knees. It may also be used as an armrest, particularly useful if the patient receives IV therapy while in the chamber, or between the knees when patients are placed on their sides, or simply as an additional pillow.
• Lateral Support Pad - provides additional support for patients who are placed on their sides. A fabric panel is placed under the patient to maintain the ideal position, while comfortably holding the pad firmly against the patient's back. The Lateral Support Pad can also be used as an armrest.

The Sechrist HBO2 Patient Comfort Positioning Pads are constructed from many of the same high quality materials that have made the Sechrist OmniPressure(TM) Hyperbaric Chamber Mattress so well received with today's pressure sore requirements. The underlying structure of the pads is high-density foam that is then covered in specialized fabric. The fabric cover of the HBO2 Patient Comfort Positioning Pads is both fluid resistant and flame retardant. And while being specifically designed for use in hyperbaric chambers, the cover is also conductive, anti-microbial, self-deodorizing and easily cleaned using certified disinfectants.
