KING OF PRUSSIA, Pa., Feb. 12 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- The Terri Lynne Lokoff Child Care Foundation (TLLCCF) announces the winners of the 2009 Terri Lynne Lokoff/Children's TYLENOL(R) National Child Care Teacher Awards(TM). Fifty exemplary early care and education teachers and providers from across the United States and on U.S. Military bases in the U.S. and overseas were chosen for their commitment to maintaining high-quality child care practices and dedication to the children they teach. Winners will be honored at an awards ceremony on April 1, 2009, King of Prussia, PA. This year, the Teacher Awards can be viewed via live streaming at www.TLLCCF.org.

The awards program winners designed a project illustrating the educational, social and emotional benefits for the children in their care. Forty-five national early childhood educators and experts scored the applications; the top 50 applicants were selected. Each of the 50 recipients will receive $500 for their project and $500 stipend. Based on scoring, one winner is selected to receive the Helene Marks Award(TM) as National Child Care Teacher of the Year.

Since 1994, the TLLCCF has presented 535 awards totaling more than $500,000 to early care and education providers.

TLLCCF Executive Director Allan Miller stated, "Early care and education teachers help lay the foundation for children to enter school ready to learn. Our focus is to improve the quality of programs that care for and educate children from birth through age five. By recognizing this group of exemplary child care teachers, we are honoring all child care teachers who are committed to ensuring high-quality standards in child care."

McNeil Consumer Healthcare, a division of McNeil-PPC, Inc., the makers of Children's TYLENOL(R) has been the title sponsor for nine consecutive years.

The TLLCCF is making America better by improving early care and education.
