Women's Healthcare Associates Midwife Winner of American Academy of Nurse Practitioners State Award of Excellence

PORTLAND, Oregon, Feb. 13 /PRNewswire/ -- Women's Healthcare Associates, LLC, the Oregon-based obstetrics, gynecology, midwifery, maternal fetal medicine and genetics practice, has announced that Helen Welch, CNM, MSN, has been honored by the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners State Award for Clinical Excellence.

Ms. Welch, who is based at Women's Healthcare Associates' Peterkort South office in Portland, received the honor in a recent ceremony. American Academy of Nurse Practitioners State Representative Roger Fogg, FNP, presented the award for excellence.

"Helen Welch's patients have nominated her for this distinguished honor. They have found her compassionate care to be of outstanding value, the best they have seen," said Fogg. "This award is the highest honor bestowed by the AANP to one Nurse Practitioner a year in the state. Of the 2300 Nurse Practitioners in the state, Ms. Welch is the only one to receive this honor. Ms. Welch's care is a classic example of the quality of care a Nurse Practitioner brings to the healthcare field," he added.

"This award is quite humbling," said Welch, who has worked as a midwife for Women's Healthcare Associates since 2004.
