Cogdell Spencer Announces Nicholas as President of the Northeast Region

WASHINGTON, Feb. 19 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ — Cogdell Spencer Inc. (NYSE:
CSA) announces the promotion of Jeff Nicholas to President of the Northeast
Region of Erdman, A Cogdell Spencer Company (Erdman).

Based in the Company’s Washington, D.C. office, Mr. Nicholas will be
responsible for all related business activities in the states of Maryland,
West Virginia, Virginia, Delaware, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, New York and the
District of Columbia. The Company offers integrated healthcare real estate
services from strategic planning to development and delivery to long term
ownership and management. Mr. Nicholas will report to Scott Ransom, President
and Chief Executive Officer of Erdman.

Prior to joining Erdman in 2007, Mr. Nicholas was a Healthcare Account
Manager for Skanska USA, and previously held leadership positions with
Gilbane, Granary Associates and GE Medical Systems. With more than twenty
five years of experience leading the execution of healthcare program
initiatives, Mr. Nicholas has directed over $1 billion of planning, design and
construction activities during his career.

He has worked with major healthcare systems such as Children’s Hospital of
Philadelphia, Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital System, New Jersey, Penn
State Hershey Medical Center, University of Pittsburgh Medical System and most
recently Johns Hopkins University Hospital in Maryland. Mr. Nicholas is a
graduate of University of Connecticut – School of Engineering and is a
licensed engineer in the state of Wisconsin.
