Congressman Rangel to Present Jack Brewer Foundation With Congressional Certificate

February 25, 2009

NEW YORK, Feb. 25 /PRNewswire/ — On Thursday, February 26, the office of
United States Congressman, Charles B. Rangel of New York’s 15th District, will
present The Jack Brewer Foundation with a Congressional Certificate in
appreciation for the foundation’s work in the African community.

The certificate will be presented to JBF Worldwide during the 2nd Annual
Eli Klein Fine Art Winter Fundraiser hosted by Dallas Cowboys Running Back,

Marion Barber, and JBF Worldwide. The fundraiser is being held to benefit
children and families in Malawi, Africa.

The Jack Brewer Foundation is an organization of many initiatives, but
center stage is given to the microfinance fund benefiting families in Malawi.
Together with the Joyce Banda Foundation in Malawi, JBF Worldwide has
empowered thousands of families by providing small loans in order to create
economic stability.

With 1.2 million orphans in Malawi, JBF Worldwide is committed to
developing initiatives that focus on creating self-sustaining development.
Proceeds from the initiative enable families to obtain the resources needed to
grow and harvest food within their communities.

The Malawi microfinance program has seen an astounding 100 percent
repayment history since its inception. The majority of individual loans are
for less than $10 US, which provides sufficient resources for an individual
spanning an entire growing season.

The program includes a goat drive that gives mothers with HIV clean goat
milk to feed their children, credit to fund fertilizer, seed and farm
equipment, and also acts as a means to finance the development of markets to
disburse their locally harvested produce.
