Sears Optical Celebrates Annual Family Eye Health Month

Nationwide Initiative Kicks-Off in March; Providing Special Promotions and Educating Consumers of the Importance of Eye Health

MASON, Ohio, March 3 /PRNewswire/ -- In an effort to remind families that having healthy eyes and seeing clearly should be a number one priority every day, Sears Optical announced today the launch of its annual "Family Eye Health Month." As part of this initiative, throughout the month of March, Sears Optical is encouraging families and consumers of all ages to schedule their next eye exam with their eye care professional, as well as offering special promotions and discounted eye wear.

According to recent studies from the Vision Council of America, more than 11 million Americans are living with an uncorrected vision problem. And this number is expected to grow as the population increases. Further, one in four children has a vision problem that goes undetected, such as common eye diseases.* An eye exam from an eye care professional is often all that is needed to help detect these problems. While Sears Optical does not provide exams, in most states there is an independent doctor of optometry located next door who does. "Healthy vision is important at any age.
