Surgical Care Affiliates and Hawaii Pacific Health to Operate Surgery Center

BIRMINGHAM, Ala., March 5 /PRNewswire/ -- Surgical Care Affiliates (SCA), one of the country's largest providers of specialty surgical services, announced today that it has entered into a joint venture relationship with Hawaii Pacific Health to construct and operate a new outpatient surgery center in downtown Honolulu.

Under the terms of the partnership, SCA will relocate its existing Surgicare of Hawaii outpatient surgery center at 550 South Beretania Street to a new location expected to open some time in 2010. SCA and Hawaii Pacific Health are in the final stage of site selection for the new facility. Surgicare of Hawaii will continue to operate at its current location until the new center is ready.

Under SCA's day-to-day-management, the relocated Surgicare of Hawaii will operate as a multi-specialty center offering an array of medical services, including orthopedics, pain management, ophthalmology, general surgery, otolaryngology, urology, obstetrics/gynecology, plastics and podiatry.
