SIS Trax enables hospital staff to track tissues from receipt to final disposition. The Web-based system uses a customizable dashboard along with rules and alerts to manage inventory, monitor tissue expirations and automate routine attestations. Serialized tissues can be allocated to a case with minimal effort, enabling clinicians to document detailed patient, procedure and tissue implantation information seamlessly. Because the product i.d. is linked to the clinical record, the information is readily available in the event of a recall or adverse reaction.
Barnes-Jewish Hospital actively participated as a development partner for SIS Trax. "As a development partner, we at Barnes-Jewish can attest to the system's rich functionality," said director of perioperative services
"SIS Trax also facilitates the nurses' work in the operating room by providing electronic integration of key information. This streamlines the documentation process for the RN," said Becker.
SIS' tissue management solution delivers complete compliance with all pertinent Joint Commission regulations (PC.17.10, PC.17.20, PC.17.30) and also ensures compliance with tracking requirements from the FDA - 21 CFR 1271.1(a).
