By dispensing drugs that are unapproved and potentially counterfeit, frequently without a valid prescription, these rogue sites pose a significant risk to the public health. Such findings underscore the importance of this project and other efforts to contain the Web-based distribution of prescription drugs within the appropriate legal and regulatory framework.
NABP also posts a list of Recommended Internet pharmacies that are accredited through the Verified Internet Pharmacy Practice Sites(TM) (VIPPS(R)) program. NABP has verified that these pharmacies are appropriately licensed and have successfully completed the well-recognized and rigorous VIPPS criteria evaluation and on-site inspection. These lists, along with program criteria and related patient information, are accessible in the Internet Pharmacies section of the NABP Web site, http://www.nabp.net.
Now in its 19th year, the prestigious AAA Awards program recognizes associations that propel America forward – with innovative projects in education, skills training, standards-setting, business and social innovation, knowledge creation, citizenship, and community service.
