Maryland Business, Academic and Biopharma Groups Underscore Commitment to Medical Innovation, Finding Cures for Cancer and Other Diseases and Supporting the Economy

ANNAPOLIS, Md., March 16 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- The following is being released by We Work for Health of Maryland:

WHAT: We Work for Health of Maryland is a coalition of leaders in research, medicine, public health, academia, education, labor and business that will discuss the impact of the bioscience community on Maryland and highlight factors important to the survival and growth of medical innovation in Maryland.

President Obama has called for a new effort to cure cancer and fight other major illnesses in our lifetime. Addressing this call to action, We Work for Health will highlight through research, roundtable discussions and other forums the importance of regional medical innovation to the state's economy and the fight to cure cancer and other illnesses. Participants in We Work for Health will discuss the specific challenges facing American medical innovators today, including policies to promote innovations that will improve the health of Americans and the economy.
