Each week, students rotate through several different nursing units. These clinical rotations are designed to help students apply theoretical concepts learned in the classroom to actual clinical situations.
Recently LSC-North Harris purchased two office buildings near the Houston Northwest Medical Center campus to be used for the college's Health Professions Building.
The facilities will include a nursing lab, computer lab, a library and a student study area. Also planned is a simulation lab, which will feature simulator patients that produce artificial vital signs and react to treatments.
"This acquisition will give the college an expanded presence in the community and will help us meet the growing need for classroom and lab space to train health professionals -- the strongest and highest in demand of the college's work force programs," states LSC-North Harris President Dr.
Project director
"We are excited that next year the nursing lab at LSC-North Harris will be within walking distance of our hospital," says
