Some Wegman’s microwave popcorn recalled

March 19, 2009

The U.S. Food and Drug Administration announced the recall of some Wegmans-brand microwave popcorn due to a labeling error.

The FDA said the Caudill Seed Company Inc. is recalling certain packages of Wegmans Organic Butter Flavor Microwave Popcorn because it might contain undeclared milk ingredients, posing a health hazard to people allergic to milk.

The product was distributed to and sold by Wegmans retail stores in New York, New Jersey, Maryland, Virginia, and Pennsylvania.

Consumers who have purchased the product listing a date code of A 6/05/09 or B 5/27/09 can return the popcorn for a refund. Consumers with questions can contact the company at 800-626-5357 ext 207.
