B. Braun Medical Inc. to Demonstrate Infusion Systems Technologies at HIMSS 2009 Interoperability Showcase

Integrated Solution's Electronic Health Record Capability Highlighted

BETHLEHEM, Pa., March 31 /PRNewswire/ -- B. Braun Medical Inc. (B. Braun) said its Outlook(R) Safety Infusion System, DoseTrac(TM) Infusion Management Software and DoseLink(TM) Interfaces successfully completed applicable portions of the Healthcare Information Technology Standards Panel's (HITSP) federally recognized Interoperability Specifications test at the Integrating the Healthcare Enterprise 2009 Connectathon in Chicago in February.

The Connectathon is the healthcare information technology (IT) industry's largest interoperability testing event. More than 130 healthcare IT systems were tested by the nearly 70 vendors present.

Braun will demonstrate the Outlook(R), DoseTrac(TM) and DoseLink(TM) (their IHE compliant interfaces) systems and its medication administration and electronic health record interoperability at the Healthcare Information and Management Systems Society's HIMSS09 Interoperability Showcase at booth # 7750 in the North Hall of McCormick Place during the HIMSS Conference & Exhibition, April 4-9 in Chicago.

Designed as a HIMSS Health Information Exchange (HIE)- based environment, the Showcase includes clinical scenarios enabled by the standards-based IHE framework and HITSP federally recognized Interoperability Specifications.

B. Braun will demonstrate the interoperability of its DoseTrac(TM) Infusion Management Software, DoseLink(TM) Interfaces and Outlook(R) Safety Infusion Systems using two-way communication with numerous vendors including Cerner, GE Centricity, Draeger, Philips, Capsule and more.
