The application enables physicians to continue monitoring their patients' health outside of the hospital - at home, the office, or on-the-road using secure WiFi and cell phone networks. Because OpusMobility(R) is truly Web-based, it operates on all major industry-standard smart phone devices including Apple's iPhone(R), Google's Android(R) G1, Blackberry(R), and Microsoft(R) devices, thus freeing hospitals from becoming phone experts and giving physicians the freedom to use their own personal devices and not carry additional ones.
The 2nd generation OpusClinicalSuite(R) is one of the few Web-based (vs. simply web-enabled) clinical information systems available and includes clinical documentation, order management, computerized physician order entry, medication administration charting and checking, a clinical data repository, a patient dashboard, and physician Web access. The system is built on a secure Web architecture, and capable of sharing clinical data through an integrated HL7/XML interface engine. The suite enables hospitals to meet patient safety issues and implement quality measures for improved patient outcomes. The OpusClinicalSuite(R) can be installed at the facility or can be delivered in an ASP model via secure private WAN or Internet connectivity. UHS has been enjoying the benefits of the ASP model for almost 10 years.
