In recent years, large clinical trials have shown that people with elevated inflammation are at increased risk for heart disease events, even if they do not present with standard risk factors. The Interleukin Genetics' Heart Health test is the first and only genetic test to identify variations in the Interleukin-1 (IL-1) genes responsible for over-expression of inflammatory cytokines.
