U.S. Plastic Surgeons Get Green Light for New Era of Fat Transfer Procedures.

April 14, 2009

Dallas Plastic Surgeon Dr. Robert Schwartz recommends VASER Lipo System with Shippert Tissu-Trans System for the very best results with these ground breaking fat transfer procedures.

DALLAS, April 14 /PRNewswire/ — A new report from the American Society of Plastic Surgeons (ASPS) Fat Graft Task Force gives U.S. plastic surgeons, like renowned Dallas based plastic surgeon Dr. Robert Schwartz, a green light to use autologous fat transfer (AFT) for the purposes of body augmentation and defect corrections. These procedures have been performed in Europe and Asia for years, as well as in America more recently, but the ASPS announcement takes AFT to an entirely new level of industry acceptance and consumer confidence in the U.S.

The report states: “Fat grafting can be considered a safe method of augmentation and correction of defects associated with various medical conditions.” The report opens doors for new procedures including the much anticipated fat transfer breast augmentation. These procedures will be easier for surgeons to perform thanks to proven surgical tools like the VASER(R) Lipo System for body contouring and fat removal, and the Shippert Tissu-Trans products for fat harvesting and reinjection. The VASER Lipo System produces emulsified fat that is uniform, clean, bloodless and less bulky than other techniques. When combined with Shippert Tissu-Trans products, fat is directly suctioned off, separated, and kept sterile, making reinjection more efficient.

Dr. Schwartz has been performing fat transfer procedures for over six years, working on the leading edge of the science. He was one of the very first American surgeons to use the VASER/Tissue-Trans system. “You get the very best results possible with the VASER(R) system because it provides a high quality clean fat which injects better. The fat is finer and easier to control than non-VASER fat. This streamlines the process of preparing the fat for reinjection allowing me to concentrate on the artistry of sculpting and contouring. Because of this I get better aesthetic results. Blood vessels can grow into the fat better, and patients experience a far more comfortable experience with quicker surgeries, minimal pain, and minimal downtime,” said Dr. Schwartz.

A key consumer advantage to the VASER/Tissue-Trans system is a financial benefit. “Since the VASER system affords the physician and staff great efficiencies in harvesting the fat, it lets me do more in the time required and so the cost savings become quite compelling for the patient,” concluded Dr. Schwartz.

The VASER/Tissue-Trans technique is applicable across a wide range of procedures, including enhancement of male pectoral muscles, rejuvenation of the face, enhancement of the shape and form of the buttocks, and as an alternative to or an addition to female breast implants. Furthermore, the technique has been utilized with the much publicized VASER High Def(TM) advanced body sculpting technique.
