Bates County Memorial Hospital Selects Opus Healthcare Solutions, Inc. to Implement the OpusClinicalSuite(R) EMR

AUSTIN, Texas, April 21 /PRNewswire/ -- Bates County Memorial Hospital (BCMH), a 60-bed acute hospital located in Butler, MO and serving Bates County and surrounding areas, has selected Opus Healthcare Solutions, Inc. to implement the OpusClinicalSuite(R) EMR. The hospital offers a wide range of services including a 24-hour physician staffed emergency department, in-patient and out-patient surgery and maternity care, with extensive outpatient specialty clinics and a physician staff numbering 60 and representing a broad cross-section of specialty areas.

One of the determining factors for this selection was the desire of the facility to be prepared in time for the total amount of federal stimulus funds being made available to PPS hospitals starting in FY2011 (calendar year October 1, 2010). By making the selection now and beginning implementation soon after, BCMH will be firmly on the pathway for displaying meaningful usage of the OpusClinicalSuite(R) EMR, a prerequisite for receiving full reimbursement for adopting EMR technology under the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009 (ARRA). Coupled with the fact that the OpusClinicalSuite(R) is truly Web-based, the ease-of-use navigational tools will help to accelerate adoption of this EMR technology for the clinical staff at Bates County Memorial Hospital.

The OpusClinicalSuite(R) provides a single point of access for clinicians to retrieve all patient clinical information (patient vitals, lab results, medications, imaging results) and submit orders, from the bedside or remote locations such as their office or distant clinics. The suite enables hospitals to meet patient safety issues and implement quality measures for improved patient outcomes, in addition to meeting the interoperability requirements mandated by ARRA.
