Hahnemann University Hospital Granted Surgical Fellowship Training Program for Pelvic Floor Disorders

PHILADELPHIA, April 22 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- Hahnemann University Hospital is pleased to announce that the American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology (ABOG) has granted approval for Drexel University College of Medicine's Female Pelvic Medicine and Reconstructive Surgery three-year fellowship training program. ABOG has granted the approval of one new fellow per year for a period of three years.

"This fellowship program will further strengthen the urologic gynecology service line at Hahnemann, as well as contributing to our rich history as a medical teaching hospital," stated Michael P. Halter, FACHE, chief executive officer of Hahnemann University Hospital.

Kristene Whitmore, M.D., an internationally recognized expert in the field of urology gynecology and pelvic floor disorders, has been appointed the program director of the fellowship program. Dr. Whitmore will work closely with Nathan Guerette, M.D., associate director of the training program, and other faculty including Timothy McKinney, M.D., Carl Della Badia, D.O., Owen Montgomery, M.D., Jamison Jaffe, D.O. and Justin Harmon, D.O. Dr. Matthew Ho, director of research, and Maureen Basha, PhD will facilitate research efforts.

The American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology is an independent, non-profit organization that certifies obstetricians and gynecologists in the United States.
