WASHINGTON, April 23 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ — The grassroots forum AmericaSpeakOn.org today kicked off a three-week discussion about health care reform with a commentary from former Health and Human Services (HHS) Secretary Mike Leavitt. In his first commentary since departing HHS, Leavitt calls the President’s “public option” for health care coverage a Trojan horse that will actually undermine choice and competition in health insurance coverage.

“Every American should have access to health insurance that he or she can afford. Government must take strong action to make that possible. However, President Obama’s ‘public option’ is designed to become most Americans’ only option. Our only hope is to keep this Trojan horse safely outside our gates,” Leavitt writes.
